Blues Music with Greenfish

Category: "Inspire" Stories

Date: April 28, 2022

There’s something distinctly southern about a good blues tune. Recently on the “Inspire” Podcast, new partner Mike Greenhill of Greenhill Management shared not only his love for this music, but his passion for playing it.

When not at work, Mike is a member of a band, Greenfish. They play a variety of blues and old soul tunes. Some of the artists they like to cover include Temp and Tops, Freddy King, and other blues legends. In addition to playing old favorites, Mike contributes his own songwriting skills to add to their vast repertoire.

Mike describes the band, which features two horns and a four-piece rhythm section, as “grooving.” Mike plays guitar in the band. He’s been playing guitar for most of his life and even worked as a professional musician in his twenties.

Greenfish has done recording at Malaco Records in Jackson, Mississippi. Malaco Records is a well-known label for soul and blues music. In fact, it is often referred to as the “last soul company” for its dedication to preserving the genre. When not working or recording, Mike and the band can be found performing at local bars, letting loose and having a great time.

We love hearing our partners share their passions and their enthusiasm for life. Be sure to tune in to the “Inspire” Podcast to catch all the latest news and announcements from Integrity!
